Active8 Communications is Growing with Huntsville

Bill joins Active8 as Managing Partner, formally accepting this role after working with the organization as a consultant over the last 12 months. He brings over 25 years of management experience in Sales & Marketing, Corporate Strategy, Product Management and Professional Services to Active8.

“My first experience with Active8 was as a client in 2018, and I was immediately impressed by the team’s creative talents and commitment to the customer,” explained Bill. “I’m excited about this opportunity to be a part of the Active8 team.”

For the last 10 years, Bill has worked as a consultant and contractor with several Huntsville area nonprofits and start-ups, including His Way Recovery Center, First Stop and Fow Wow Designs. Prior to that, he worked at Avocent Corporation for 20 years during a period of tremendous organizational growth, holding senior management positions in Sales & Marketing, including VP of Product Marketing & Global Professional Services.

This move allows Active8 Founder, Russ Edwards, to focus on what he loves and does best: creative strategies, branding, and design.

“This is perfect timing. Active8 has steadily grown over the last several years, and we’re not slowing down,” explained Russ. “I decided to bring Bill in because of his deep leadership experience in high growth environments. As an Executive team, Bill and I will provide a vision for Active8’s direction. Bill will provide day-to-day executive and operational leadership, while I focus on expanding our creative capabilities and ensuring our customers continue to receive the very best return on their Marketing investment.”

As part of this move, Active8 has also begun helping customers with Organizational & Marketing Strategy. “That’s another reason this has been a great fit,” said Bill. “I have experience building strategic plans and have actually brought over a few clients from my previous consulting company. Now at Active8, we’re working with a number of customers at a deeper, more strategic level, helping them with long-term Organizational Planning, Marketing Strategy and Messaging.”

In addition, Morgan Vick has joined the Active8 team as Marketing Coordinator. In this role, she will support clients by building Marketing Plans and ensuring projects are well-defined and delivered on time. Morgan graduated from Auburn University in 2018 with a degree in Marketing and worked as a Brand Manager prior to joining Active8.
